Yup. Most fish aren't great parents, and will readily eat their babies!

Cichlids, however, are usually great parents. But tetras and livebearers and goldfish.. no way, they are too hungry to be maternal!

Most all fish tend to eat their young the best thing you can do is to seperate the parents from the young immediately. In other words seperate the eggs from all the other fish period. Until they are bigger.
