My husband has abandoned us for 16 years with no support. He turned himself into a Muslim and contact marriage for 2nd time. I could not afford an annullment proceedings. Now a Pakistani guy would like to marry me. Can I marry him under Muslim Law inspite existence of my first marriage under Phillippines Civil Law and Catholic laws?

I would not want to marry another muslim man that left me with not support,I wouldn't even want to look at another muslim.
why does it have to be a muslim man? are you muslim?
look for the quality of the man,religion is fine , but it's not everything.

Sure why not cause i'm muslim. You only need to convert yourself to be muslim. You need to understand the culture and religion first before marriage. Islam is an easy religion and don't worry your future husband can teaches you about the religion. If you needd help just email me. Good luck

I am not Muslim but I know so many Muslim.
there are some who practice Islam, and some of them do not think other ppl who are not Muslim has the same right. so if he is like that you will never have the Islam right.
even if he is not like that in Islam women do not have the same right, specially non Muslim one.
there are other group who do not practice and are more open minded.

make sure you will be happy with him, and family play a great deal in that culture. like mother in law has a great power and...

The people who asked 'why do you want to marry another Muslim' are ridiculous. Not all Muslims are the same. If you were to marry a Christian and divorce, and marry another, they would not be asking you this question. You have to convert to Islam if you want to marry him.
