I am referring to these high profile "breakups" such Britney and Kevin, etc. The media/television/movies seem to depict as a normal occurance.

i don't know but i so agree with you.. i always said i would never get married cause if for some odd reason it doesn't work out then i wasted all that money on a wedding and then i have to pay to divorce him too.. f' that! times are changing and i think that one of the main reasons people get married after waiting 6 or 7 years is for the extra $$$ on taxes.. thats the only reason i would do it.. other then that i think getting married is over rated! best wishes!

First of all I think it is Brittneys fault because of how she went into the relationship and how kevin left shar did she really think it was going to be different with or for her? She was really a homewrecker and harma came back and bither in the a**. People rush into getting married and just as fast as getting a divorce because they dont know each other they're just rushing into everything without knowing one another first

ohhh i can awnser this one! my mom has been married 4 times. well the reason people get married and then divorced so fast is because they feel like they have found the right perfect one or because the person is really nice to them in the begining and then becomes a ***** or *** later. see when someone treats you really good like a princess when you first start dating it makes you trust them and love them more each day and then once they ask you to marry them they say yes because they feel like they can trust them with all there heart. well some people put a fony act on at first and then act like an *** or ***** later! do you see what i mean?

it goes along with all the hype that u have to be married to have happiness, so people get married, without knowing if it will work and usually after a short time dating and it ends up in divorce. as for me i am for living with someone for a while to see if u can be compatible with that person, if not go ur seperate ways but if u can get married. as my older brother once told me u never really know a woman till u live with her. that is so true women, will disguise there true selves in order to trick a man into marrying them and then the change begins b4 then honeymoon is over.

I think people get married because it sounds good, and the idea of marrying the love of ur life is great, and then all hell breaks loose and u find out u married a total jerk u can't stand to look at anymore. Plus...after marriage, guys change. They change a lot. Now they have "caught their girl", they think they don't have to work to keep them anymore. I had a guy friend who even told me, "why do I want to date my wife...she's MY WIFE!!!" I think that's why divorce is getting so popular. Women are getting fed up with it.

Everybody wants to be in love that has a beating heart! With a clebrity it's probably more important (marriage) because they need to believe this is someone they can share their secrets, be totally themselves with. Sounds familiar! they think 'holy matrimony" will protect them. But then we get to read tell all books-unauthorized, and the ex gets a couple of million just so they can get rid of 'em!

People should:
1 - Find a partner committed to the same morals and prinicples.
2 - Marry that partner as a life long commitment to the partner.

It is not moral and principled to not be committed.

You are right. They like the idea of everything a marriage offers but not the sacrifice and commitment that is at the very core of what a marriage is.

actually i really dont know the answer, it's crazy ya knoe.. but maybe they really havent thought about it.. they thought marriage is like dating or having a short term relationship and then it's too late when they realize that marriage is something different.. or maybe they found out that they are not yet ready for a commitment or they are not yet ready for a big responsibility like marriage.. haiz..
