depression shouldn't be taken lightly, you need to seek professional help. never self-medicate.
if the problem is the relationship, then you have to get out of it. you need to talk to a lawyer who could explain to you your rights and obligations. you need to get all the details so you could have a clearer view of what you want to do next. you may feel trapped now, but if you know your options - you'll see all the possible exits you could take. and be brave...at least for your kids.
God bless!

you don't need your husband to help you get a job.
go out and get a job yourself, you feel this way because you feel you have to be dependent on him, look into some low cost daycare, pull yourself together, you are much better than that
anti depressants only work for awhile, besides the problem is still there,if you think you would be in a custody battle then don't take anything that could be used against you!!!!
work on yourself you will be okay, stop thinking you can't do anything without your husbands help

Why not try to get a job at a daycare so you can be with your son and make some money as well. Getting on anti depressants is not the answer those pills have lots of side effects.

I'm so sorry to hear that you have a man like that. Does Canada have Kids incorporated? If so they will help you pay for daycare. Is there anyway you can buy anti-depressants on-line? I do they'll even write you a script and its legit. I take lexapro. If you wanna talk feel free to email me lynn.foster@tds.net. good luck

I was on anti depressants during my divorce and he tried to ues it against me yes but he did not succeed. At least i could admit that i was depressed and the situation was the problem since the divorce i have not been on any meds and i feel fine . And if u are seeing a councelor they can come to court and support u if u need that. Do not be afraid to get help if u need it .

Help yourself don't blame him for all of what you two shared in making. He doesn't owe you a damn thing! You sound like someone who wants everything done for you. Get a life please, quit blaming the guy you are suppose to be in love with. If you are depressed get help. Did you know that about 60 % of the population is depressed in some form or another. I feel sorry your common law husband.

What you have is situational depression and that can only be cured by changing the situation. If you are already talking custody battles, then hon, you've already left. So go ahead and go, what are you waiting for?

You can divorce him just like a marriage with papers. If you are in a common law marriage..... you get half.... plus child support, etc.
You will also find help through social services, can go to school, and get a job.
Best Wishes,
Sue
