All website and doctors say there is little discomfort with the stent and one can carry on normal activity, including sports.

A person I know takes pain killers and says he is still in tremendous pain. Can't do anything but lay in a chair or bed. Says walking even a few steps is painful, let alone doing any physical activity beyond that.

His doc says this is not right, his extended family says he's gold-bricking. A nurse friend says some men just can't handle anything foreign in their penises.

He says he screams when he pees, and is in tremendous pain all other times. This is not his first stent, and the pain is the same each time.

I would appreciate hearing any experiences I can share with my friend to buck him up in coping with his family's anger at his invalidity or that I can use to encourage him to do more, as people are asking him to.

My wife just got them done and she has been in pain ever since.Like your friend, she can't stand or walk, and she's vomiting like crazy. Your friend should be happy to know he's not alone.Does anyone know if the broken up stone can still pass WITHOUT the stent? It's not agreeing with her.

i had stents following elimination of kidney stones 6 occasions now and at any time when i discovered it really uncomfortable- a radiating suffering, like i used to be being stabbed within the genital vicinity mostly. oh yeah, at any time when i urinated with the stent it felt like anyone lit a fit among my legs and that i pissed blood clots till the stent used to be eliminated. my urologist mentioned that it's extra painful for folks who've an abnormally slim urethra. suffering may be very subjective anyways, and no person who's experiencing a pleasant deal of it will have to ought to concentrate to their family unvalidating their responce to it.

I work in a hospital, no, stents should not hurt or cause pain unless they are coming out which seems to happen a lot. I'm a woman but have had stents in my ureters they did not hurt or cause any restrictions.

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.

They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!

This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.

It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.
