(1) Interpretation
Studying how different people interpret meaning or truth from language, symbols, religion, events, perceptions, media, each other.
Also translating between interpretations and mediating to resolve differences in perception or understanding.
This goes beyond culture or linguistics as it involves a spiritual factor as well, if people are willing to forgive and trust each other.
There is an institute for the study of "forgiveness" which is a critical factor in reconciling different interpretations.
(2) Political evolution
Study of how nations become independent entities, after breaking off from a parent country. There is not yet an established process for "petitioning" for independence, or for mentoring a state through the stages of developing financial and political viability. So currently wars are fought instead.
This process is analogous to people becoming independent adults after breaking from the parent family. Since we know that individuals go through this process as normal human development, why don't we agree on a process for collective states to go through the same process that is repeated throughout history. If we could develop a diplomatic process, there would not need to be revolutions and bloodshed.
(3) Spiritual diagnosis and treatment
Studying and developing technology to measure chemical and energy changes in a person's brain patterns to prove the existence of negative spiritual energies or "demonic" infestations (which can cause criminal addictions, mental or physical illness); and to document the process of treatment and healing through spiritual therapy, in conjunction with psychological and medical treatment.
Catholic priests have performed ritual exorcisms for centuries; and even Scientologists use a form of biofeedback to monitor a person's spiritual, emotional and mental health. But there has not yet been a formalized study to establish spiritual disease, diagnosis, and treatment as a regular health practice.
More and more medical research and studies have been done on prayer and healing (documented in books such as "Healing" by Francis MacNutt (edition 2000 or later) and "Prayer is Good Medicine"). Given scientific advancements in MRI and nanotechnology, it is possible to develop means of measuring energy particles and changes as needed to document spiritual changes and effects on the human mind and body.
Since cases have been documented of using spiritual treatment to cure physical or mental illness, ranging from cancer to schizophrenia, and criminal addictions -- not only involving drugs, abuse or violence but also pedophilia and other "incurable" conditions -- proving this process scientifically through medical research would completely reform the mental health and criminal justice system.
