mantle is made up of rocks with higher portion of iron and magnesium. Compared to the earth's crust it has smaller portion of silicon and aluminium. the type of rocks that made up the mantle are mostly olivine, pyroxenes, spinel, garnet, peridotite, dunite and eclogite.
