Just a candid question. I'm not saying I'm happy about it.

well considering they didn't have to spend a dime to have Saddam ousted, which is exactly what they wanted, but they couldn't get the job done because rummy was supplying Saddam with far too many "farm" chemicals, i would say the answer is YES!

Yes. For the following reasons:

1) As soon as the US invaded Iraq, Iran immediately hastened it's nuclear program & built stronger defenses to protect them making a potential US bombing raid much more difficult.

2) With the Iraqi Sunnis out of power & the majority Iraqi Shia taking over the Iraqi Govt. the Iranians have an almost instant ally in the new Iraq.

3) With the Iraqi Shia in control of Iraq the balance of power in the Mideast will shift to all Shia Muslims including Iran & Hezbollah, who will now feel that they can finally take on the majority Sunni Muslims causing a regional civil war that will make the Iraq war look like a tea party.

4) You think Saddam was bad? Just wait when a wider civil war throughout the Mideast starts between Sunnis & Shias. Oil prices will go to $250 a barrel & the entire industrilized world will be shut down & the whole world will be fighting over Mideast & that could easily lead to WW3.

5) And who do we have to thank for all this? Our great leader George W. Bush.

Yes, the big winner. Over the long term, It is on the way of becoming the regional super power and, eventually will gain hegemony over the region. We are reaching the tipping point where armed intervention is no longer a feasible action, and, should Israel try, it will create a catastrophe for the region and beyond.
The key to recognize is that neither Iran or other insurgency movements are no seeking world domination and it is time to recognize the Golden Age for the West is drawing to a close.
The next five super powers, I foresee on the horizon, are China, India, Iran, Russia and Brazil.

Could happen... Iran is the real enemy in Iraq.. and if we "redeploy the troops" (aka surrender) then Iran will be the winner and the world will be the loser.
