I'd pick a song totally unexpected. Like if your band rocks hard, The Carpenters "Rainy Days and Mondays" or if your band is jazzy/bluesy, a cover of "Iron Man" would trip people out, if you could make it your own. Something that hasn't already been re-made and not obvious. Good luck.

Dont do a song that is a classic that everyone knows. Do one by a classic band (Nirvana, maybe?) but wasn't very popular (uhhh right). Like one that wasn't made a single or anything.

Yeah hope that helps.... x.X

dont do anything that will hold you to high expectations, like a Zeppelin tune. find what songs will fit the type of music you play and go for one you think you can make better, not just 'cover'.

The version of "Tainted Love" by Soft Cell is better than the original. The original was recorded in 1964 by Gloria Jones.
