I asked this question earlier.... what can I do to make my contractions speed up and come closer together?
I want to add: isn't it possible to have back labor and hardly any stomach contractions?
I've tried walking, sex doesnt' exactly work unless you know of a case that its worked with the woman being solo (I'm a single Mom). I've been in the early stages of labor since Sunday night, and my water hasn't broken yet.
So what else can I try?
and
These sharp back pains and muscle contractions can actually be labor pains also right?

I haven't seen my regular OB for the past 3 weeks (he wasn't here) but I did go into labor and delivery and they confirmed I was in labor and 80% effaced and 1 1/2 cm.

With my first son I had back labor and with my second had stomach contractions. I thought the stomach contractions were more intense then the back ones. With my first one I was in labor for 34 hours and the second I was only in labor for 14 hours. With this baby I am pregnant with right now I have had those braxton hicks contractions that feel almost like the real thing. Or sometimes the baby moves against my spine just right and it hurts so bad. I am due on Thursday and I go to bed kinda sad that today wasn't the day and wake up in the morning hoping that I will go into labor. You get to this point and hope that every little thing your body is doing is a sign that you about to give birth, but you never really know for sure until you are actually in labor and about to push. Sometimes the false labor pains feel really close to true labor pains. They it is true labor if the contractions are getting stronger and closer together, and don't really change with movement or lack of. When I took my birthing class they said to walk and to rotate you hips. Sometimes the baby gets stuck in your hip girdle and moving them around helps move the baby. Take a walk and try the hula hop

I was 1 in every check I had for the last 5 weeks. I began getting labor pain about 2 weeks before I had the baby. When it comes there is no guessing. Usually it will hit you hard. I tried everything with my second child. I tried breast pump, prim rose oil, walking, sex, anything you can think of and I was induced I really believe NOW that the baby has to want to come out lol take a warm bath and relax and jsut when you are not expecting it youll have to run! My first I had no clue until I tried to go to bed and I was up all night with this little pain and when i say all night i slept for maybe an hour!

Yes it is very possible to have back labor and not feel it in the stomach area. My first child was complete back labor I had no clue what contractions really felt like. Good luck.

Get moving gal!!
Try keeping on your feet, but don't overdo it. And don't power walk as it could be harmful...try a very warm bath, nipple stimulation. You can have back labour, but that would indicate bub is posterior and you don't want that...longer labours and more intense pain...
Pure raspberry-leaf tea was a suggestion made to me, but you have to be able to tolerate it!!
I found the less-prepared you were the higher chance of labour resuming!!

Sadly it's going to take greater than a difference of presidency to undo the harm this new labour occasion have performed. essentially the most devastating factor they've delivered to this nation is public opinion that each one politicians are liars traitors and thieves. it's going to be decades earlier than the normal British individual takes parliament severely. this govt are the worst govt Britain has ever suffered. considering the fact that they got here in on lies and deception. and that is precisely as they are going to pass out considering the fact that they've! no inspiration learn how to inform the reality.

yikes! Sex worked for me =-) Did you go see your Dr and did he confirm that you are indeed in labor? I would say brisk walking! Go walk around the mall or something. I know my water didn't break, my Dr. had to break when I was like 6cm.... I would call the Doc and talk to him! good Luck!

well i'm assuming you're full term, in that case i read in a pregnancy magazine that stimulating your nipples can bring on contractions, but they warn that you want to do it carefully because you don't want them to come on too strong and too fast.
i'm not a doctor, so i can't promise anything, but it said that it's worked before.
(i'm 31 weeks myself so i have been reading things on this topic)
you might want to try going to babycenter.com, i'm not sure if they have any articles on it, but you might. that is who i got my magazine through.
