I have always wondered if blind people have any sense of sight. Like if I would be walking in a completely dark room where I only see black or if blind people have no visual sense at all. I do understand that this may depend on the type of blindness.

As you stated, it depends on the type of blindness. Most people who are considered blind have some sort of vision. It can consist of distorted colors and shapes, shadows, dark spots blocking the field of view, a cloudy or underwater-type sensation, or even an over abundance of bright light (picture staring directly into a flashlight.)

I once had a friend who had been blind since birth. She was one of the rare ones who had no vision at all. She once told me that she doesn't see black, she just sees nothing. She explained it to me by asking me what I was able to see with my nose. She said that the nose sees nothing, and there is no sensation of any color...including black.

It is a very abstract thought for anyone who has not expereinced it, but I hope it helps to answer your question.

When your eyes are closed, I wouldn't say you are seeing anything. Your eyelids block light that is reflected by objects. That reflected light is critical to the perceptory process of sight. Typically, a blind person does not perceive sensory data from the eye, regardless of the cause, so they would not see anything.

IT DEPENDS ON IF YOU WERE BORN BLIND OR BECAME BLIND IF YOU WERE BORN THIS WAY THEN THER IS NO POSSIBLE WAY TO RECOGNIZE COLOR THAT WELL CONSIDERING YOU NEVER SAW COLOR BEFORE BUT A FRIEND OF MINE WHO IS BLIND SAYS HE CAN ONLY KINDA TELL IF SOMETHING IS DARK OR LIGHT FROM THE SENSATION

Let's say your brain receives signals from your eyes (which they do) but what would happen if your brain received no signal? It, and you would "see" that area as nothing, so your brain may default to this so-called "black." You are not really seeing anything, but as a placeholder, your brain uses black. Simply, your brain is telling you it does not have enough info to figure out what is there.
