Although penguins are the most stalwart habitants of Antarctica, they have nothing to do with Christmas. This was brought about with the commercial interests in marketing movies etc. Jesus Christ was born in the middle east, and there ain't any penguins there!!

People in the Southern hemisphere still celebrate Christmas Dec. 25th. It makes no difference that its "summer" there.

i didnt now penguins were associated with christmas.....and believe it or not people celebrate christmas in the southern hemisphere too!

uh, people from the south celebrate christmas too. they live in snow and people associate snow with christmas, therefore penguins are associated with christmas. that's the transitive property

Penguins are from the north pole, not the south.. they couldn't survive in Antarctica because it's too cold, even for them!

they are in antartica where it is cold therefore it invokres a winter feeling with christmas. then there is the popularity of the movies happy feet and march of the penqguins.
