The Grapes of Wrath. It's a part of history that todays youth haven't a clue about and is very dramatic and heartwrenching. It tells a real story. I am 53 and the movie The Grapes of Wrath is in black and white but it's one of the most real stories about the depression that has ever been written and it will make you think, and hopefully become a better person. Good luck. I love to read so maybe I'll pick one of yours to read, haven't read them all. sorry.

Either My Antonia-really good story and easy to read or The Grapes of Wrath-it is longer than My Antonia but it is also a very good book.
I have read both these books a couple of times.
Even though I hate to admit it, I am 30.

The Grapes of Wrath is a classic but Uncle Tom's Children makes you feel as if you are there, it is so descriptive it's just an incredible book. Either one you'll like. (age 14)

By the Way....why are some people posting random books up here? Just to let you know it's not YOUR favorite book it's out of that list.

The only one on your list that I've read is The Grapes of Wrath. I read it when I was 18, a freshman in college. It's a little slow, at times, but overall is a very good book.

I'm going with the Grapes of Wrath, too. It's one of those American classics that deserves to be a classic.

Age 28

I have no idea as I don't have a clue what you like at all. What I do is check Amazon.com. It has the basic summary of each book, book length, ect. Then, pick the few that sound like they would be the most interesting and read the reader comments on the book to see if it would still be a good book to read. That place is more likely to help you out then this place.

I haven't read any of those but John Steinbeck is always good, so I'd say The Grapes of Wrath.

I'm 17.
