I have a friend, who I met last year. We will call her “X” X didn’t have any friends and so my best friend and I started hanging out with her. X seemed annoying, but soon she got to be a lot of fun, and really nice. Then X started lying no-stop, and about EVERYTHING! X considers us her “best friends” but we don’t know anything about X and visa versa. X also has a very bad temper.

X works with my best friend, so they are together a lot. (aka: no escaping her!!!!)

We are all seniors, and will be graduating in 6 months. Is it even worth the trouble of bothering with her? Should we just suck it up until graduation???

Suggestions!?

End the friendship. I was in a friendship like that and all that came out of it was my anger for her. End it. If you guys aren't close, and she calls you her best friend, she basically is cruel to everyone. She'll learn this way. Don't suffer because being bullied isn't a friendship. You go and be happy with you real friends.

In reality you should confront her about her lying problem and be serious with him. Be firm but not rude about it. Ask her about the cause of her lying. Maybe she is afraid that you won't like her anymore and will lose you as friends. There are many causes related to a person lying to his/her friend. If you tell her that she doesn't have to lie to you to continue to be her friend and shel ies anyway then she isn't your friend because friends don't lie to each other. They are truthful to each other. Maybe she doesn't understand that. So be nice about it and try to help her if she has a problem related to her lying, but if you can't stand her THAT MUCH then you and your other friend should just move on without her. Everyone isn't meant to be friends.....well you could look at it this way.

well i understand what you mean by not really wanting to be rude and just telling her to bug off but you need to let her know a true friend doesnt lie especially a best friend and she can either get with it or get out of the picture because you can stand pathalogical liars.

I don't want to seem mean to this 'X' girl but if she bothers you that much introduce her into someone else so she will leave you alone! I would not someone following me around alot and if that dosn't work just ignore her she will get the hint. Thats what I would do.
