Like terms are terms that have the same variables to the same power.
All these have x as the variable.
6x^3, 8x, 3x^2, -10x^2
There are two terms here that have x^2 as their variable.
3x^2 and -10x^2 are like terms.

Hope I helped!

the like terms are 3x to the second power and negative 10x to the second. add them together and you get negative 7x to the second
the whole thing would be
6x to third MINUS 7x to second PLUS 3x
