Are witches real or not?

I believe witchcraft excises. Does it work. Well that's another question. I assumes people who practice witchcraft are assumed to be witches so I guess I would have to answer yes. Yes they do.

now it depends on the type of witches u are meaning.if u are refering to the ones from the Hollywood movies like the wicked witch of the west,than no.but there are real witches out there that do practice magick and cast spells.i am for one a witch.and i do call myself a witch.i have been witch for few months now i cant exactly tell u how long point blank.but i practice witchcraft and cast spells to gain closer relationship with the Goddess and the God.i am a good witch,and dont like to cast ugly spells on ppl b/c it is wrong and number 2 it is against the law of three.there are many of us out there in this world.we are not devilworshippers or we dont believe in satan.we worship the Gods and the Goddesses of nature and we use the nature's plants to heal things in our life or our loved ones.i hope that this helps u know what it is to be a witch and that we are real and not no fake.and i hope in the future that u will learn more on ur own terms the meaning of witchcraft.

The green-skinned, flying on brooms kind of witches are not real. But there are modern day witches. Look up paganism and wicca for more information.

There are people that really practice the craft if that's what you are asking. Yes, there's witches or people that believe to be witches, but I don't really think they have the powers believed of them.

Yes of course they are. Some of my best friends are "Witches".

That's like asking whether Jews are real or not.

BTW, they do not have green skin or ride around on brooms. Most of them are pretty normal aside from their religious views.

Most of my friends who are "witches" consider themselves to be Pagan, there are just as many denominations of Paganism as there are of Christianity. Wiccan is the most common in the realm of the New Age Movement.
There are biker Pagans, Native American Spiritualists, and many others mixed in as well. Some people subscribe to Norse or Greek Mythology as a religion as well.
These religions did not die with the advent of Christianity. But they did become grouped together under the umbrella term Pagan which literally means "of the people".

Ha Ha! I expected a lot of ignorant comments! Instead I see the "Holier than Thou" thumbs down people are here instead! Yes, Witches are very real, and we don't go around giving people thumbs down because they are not Wiccan themselves. There is a lot of information out there if you care to look.

what do you mean by witches?

there are neopagan religionists who call themselves witches, ie wiccans. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wicca

but the witches from the wizard of oz and that the catholic church likes to tout about for inquisitions? no. they never existed and they never did. often enough, it was the local wise woman and midwife who often enough got lynched or people who were politically expedient to persecute, but that image of the crooked nose witch has no real basis in realtiy.

Yes withes are real, in Oberlin Ohio there is a cult that does a celebration in the park at the town square very summer. But they do not have "magic powers."

Yes we are real. No I don't fly around on a broom stick, I don't worship the devil, and my skin is not green.
However I do have a pointed hat ;)
