They only have those crummy baked ones now. They used to have the fried ones in the San Jose, CA airport, but they're gone too. Bummer.

Interesting question.
According to a response from McDonald's posted on this site: http://motleywebsurfer.home.comcast.net/home.htm to a question similar to yours:
"approximately 90% of McDonald's restaurants currently serve baked apple pies. However, there are, in fact, a few restaurants that still serve our fried apple pies. Due to space constraints, most of our restaurants located in shopping malls and Wal*Mart department stores were unable to fit the baking oven required to prepare baked apple pies in the kitchen area. Therefore, these locations continue to serve our fried apple pies."
Of course, there's no indication of when that letter was written, so things may have changed by now -- but it sounds like your best bet is a Mickey D's at the mall or a Wal*Mart.

McDonald's stopped frying most of their products due to health concerns for the majority of the population. However, here's an idea.......you can ask the managers to fry an apple pie for you. The worst they'll say is no, but if you frequent a particular McDonald's in your area and have gotten to know the mgrs, ask them, it doesn't hurt to ask. I go in and ask for specific things to be done too and they do it. Like I ask for them to double cook the fries so they are crunchy, I love crunchy fries!; and they do it for me. They want to please their customers so most will be nice and fry up your apple pie for you. Never hurts to ask.

I now I missed the fried ones. I don't think they make them anymore. I hear the KFC makes one though. If I try it I will let you know.
