I am really confused why people add x or xx or xxx after their messages for ex. take care xxx . What does it mean? Does it mean a kiss, sex, duh I am confused!

hugs
xxx = many hugs
xx = two hugs
x = one hug
can be combined with kisses
xxooxx = hugs and kisses
it goes back to normal letter writing.

xxxxxx has always meant kisses even when people wrote letters by hand.
As a joke we would write
"kisses on the bottom"

I think it means hugs but it also means that you fill in the variable with your answer. Ex: You are running Windows xx(like XP, ME, NT,etc.)

It mean hugs.. it's usually used among friends. you've probably seen it in contexts such as
"thank you! xx"

Not all ppl do that. And it means nothing, but it could be a code b/w friends. Or it could be accidental.
