Why don't inbred people come out perfect?

Why don't they? Seeing as their parents' genes are so alike, wouldn't they be really pretty, really strong, etc.?

To the first one who answered: Inbred does not mean bi-racial. It means two family members commit incest and have a baby.

And the children are sometimes born with genetic problems as a result. The royal families of Europe and certain other cultures would marry within the family in order to keep the wealth in the family. There were genetic diseases that resulted at times... such as hemophelia in some families of Europe.

Look for research on the topic on the net. I've never researched it and never was good in biology. :o)

It's because of the gene pool

Think of it this way, if you breed with your own family or only a select few family's there isn't a lot of material in that gene pool. The more times you breed the more chance that genetic anomalies occur. Without the influx of new genetic material the higher chance of birth defects, etc.

A good example of this is the old royalty in Europe, royalty could only marry other royalty so after a time a lot had genetic defects, such as hemophilia. (the only reason they all weren't was because many had lovers and some must have had children with them, bring new genetic material into the pool)

The smaller the gene pool the greater chance of those anomalies

Diversity is the only way to protect a species

Maybe so, but maybe their parents inherited all the good genes and have bad recessive genes that don't show on them but might come out in their kids.
Anyway who's perfect in this world.

Yankee men and boys do it with there mothers and sisters all the time and look how wonderfull they have came out to be. But its not my way, but each to his own
