okay so in school we are imaginning we're on a ship and these are the food we have on the ship:
Meat = salt meat or salt codfish
Legumes = chickpeas, lentils, or beans
other = cheese, rice, almonds, raisins, hardtack

next we have to find he combinations using ONE food from each of the threee groups.
so far i only got 28 combintions......IS THAT IT? PLEASE HELP ME......................

You multiply the possible choices:

2 x 3 x 5 = 30 possible combinations

This is the same as making a tree or branching diagram:

I have no clue but i would pick the salt meat than the beans and to top it off the rice its sounded the best

So far i got 30 thats 2 meats 3 veggies and 5 others and 6x5 is 30. Hope this helps you out, 2x3=6 and 6x5=30.......Flo

if you have just meat and legumes, your combinations are [SM, CH],[SM, LE][SM. BE][CO, LE]....etc....you'll note that there are six posibilities...ie 2x3......now put in the five others....and you get(2)(3)(5)=30
