Maybe it's watching you by rodeny atkins, a song inspired by his son. Aparrently his son was singing 'if youre going through hell' (one of his father's latest big hits) at school and got in a lot of trouble, so his dad wrote him this cute song as an alternative
Watching You
Drivin’ through town just my boy and me
With a “Happy Meal” in his booster seat
Knowin’ that he couldn’t have the toy ‘til his nuggets were gone
A green traffic light turned straight to red
I hit my brakes and mumbled under my breath
His fries went a flyin’, and his orange drink covered his lap
Well, then my 4 year old said a 4 letter word
It started with “S” and I was concerned
So I said, “Son, now where’d you learn to talk like that?”
[Chorus:]
He said, I’ve been watching you, dad ain’t that cool
I’m your buckaroo, I want to be like you
And eat all my food and grow as tall as you are
We got cowboy boots and camo pants
Yeah, we’re just alike, hey, ain’t we dad
I want to do everything you do
So I’ve been watching you
We got back home and I went to the barn
I bowed my head and I prayed real hard
Said, “Lord, please help me help my stupid self”
Just this side of bedtime later that night
Turnin’ on my son’s Scooby-doo nightlight
He crawled out of bed and he got down on his knees
He closed his little eyes, folded his little hands
Spoke to God like he was talkin’ to a friend
And I said, “Son, now where’d you learn to pray like that?”
[Chorus:]
He said, I’ve been watching you, dad ain’t that cool
I’m your buckaroo, I want to be like you
And eat all my food and grow as tall as you are
We like fixin’ things and holding momma’s hand
Yeah, we’re just alike, hey, ain’t we dad
I want to do everything you do
So I’ve been watching you
With tears in my eyes I wrapped him in a hug
Said, “My little bear is growin’ up”
And he said, “But when I’m big I’ll still know what to do”
[Chorus:]
‘Cause I’ve been watching you, dad ain’t that cool
I’m your buckaroo, I want to be like you
And eat all my food and grow as tall as you are
By then I’ll be strong as superman
We’ll be just alike, hey, won’t we dad
When I can do everything you do
‘Cause I’ve been watchin’ you

If your husband is in the Army, could it be "Letters from Home" by John Michael Montgomery?
My Dear Son, it is almost June,
I hope this letter catches up to you, and finds you well
Its been dry but they’re calling for rain,
And everything's the same ol’ same in Johnsonville
Your stubborn 'ol Daddy ain’t said too much,
But I’m sure you know he sends his love,
And she goes on,
In a letter from home
I hold it up and show my buddies,
Like we ain’t scared and our boots ain’t muddy, and they all laugh,
Like there’s something funny bout’ the way I talk,
When I say: "Mama sends her best y’all"
I fold it up an' put it in my shirt,
Pick up my gun an' get back to work
An' it keeps me driving me on,
Waiting on letters from home
My Dearest Love, its almost dawn
I’ve been lying here all night long wondering where you might be
I saw your Mama and I showed her the ring
Man on the television said something so I couldn’t sleep
But I’ll be all right, I’m just missing you
An' this is me kissing you
XX’s and OO’s,
In a letter from home
I hold it up and show my buddies,
Like we ain’t scared and our boots ain’t muddy, and they all laugh,
'Cause she calls me "Honey", but they take it hard,
'Cause I don’t read the good parts
I fold it up an' put it in my shirt,
Pick up my gun an' get back to work
An' it keeps me driving me on,
Waiting on letters from home
Dear Son, I know I ain’t written,
But sittin' here tonight, alone in the kitchen, it occurs to me,
I might not have said, so I’ll say it now
Son, you make me proud
I hold it up and show my buddies,
Like we ain’t scared and our boots ain’t muddy, but no one laughs,
'Cause there ain’t nothing funny when a soldier cries
An' I just wipe me eyes
I fold it up an' put it in my shirt,
Pick up my gun an' get back to work
An' it keeps me driving me on,
Waiting on letters from home
