Do you agree that the N word should be bamed among blacks who used it more oftern?

it is not okay for non blacks to use that word and I will support any movements for anyone who are not black that used it in the media including fine and apologies but what I don't like is the movement by black leaders to bane that word especially among blacks who used it more often. To me that is a waste of time when they could be doing something more reasonable. As a black man I don’t support that movement. I used among my friend and beside blacks use among themselves for joke and inspirations. To black people including blacks (non African Americas example Africans, islanders, Hispanic blacks and list goes on) do you support this movement

it is spelled differnlt but has a smilar proanouncation but they are baming both of those two words

There is still alot of prejudice among us today. We see it every day, and we still acknowledge that it is still there. We continue to say different things and use erogitive statements that discriminate against each others race. We are in the middle of race wars and it will never end. The blacks can use the n word but any other race can't. What does that say about us? White people use other words to describe ourselves, but if another race says it, they are as*holes? We are contradicting ourselves with the words that we use. We need to realize that there are always going to be Blacks. There are always going to be Whites. There are aways going to be Asians, Mexicans, Jewish, etc. (you get the picture!). I don't let things bother me when someone says something about my kids (they are bi-racial-'black and white') because I think that they were brought up in a messed up environment.

It is a stupid campaign simply because it is a waste of time. But no race can own a word. Hispanic rappers say "the n word" and such but because they don't use it maliciously its ok. To me that concept is fine and nyone should be able to use it under those guidelines. BTW you don't hear white people going around affectionately calling each other cracker. But you do hear females walking around affectionately calling each other *****. So I guess its just how the group embraces the word. "The N word" is somewhat different becuse of its history but if we as a society are trying to move beyond racism than all the artifacts of racism should be confronted and appropriately addressed.

Sorry - I don't think ANY word should be banned. When something is offensive, people will let others know they find it offensive, and if others keep using it, it says something about them.

But once we start banning a word, the next step is to ban an idea. To ban the freedom to voice an objection. We will ban people who disagree with us, people who have different opinions.

And one morning, you may wake up and find that you - or your religion - or the color of your skin - has been banned.

Nope - let's deal with offensive people as people, but I'm opposed to banning anything.

I think that the use of the word should be strongly discouraged. We should not support the use of it by buying music of artist that use it or by seeing performers/movies that use it.

Banning however would be going too far. In the U.S. we like our freedom. The best way to make a point here is by not financially supporting the use of the word. Don't use it yourself and don't support those who use it.

well if you have ever heard asian pride asian rappers use the word frequently. people who use the "N" word freuently are usually blcak people and rappers. www.youtube.com look up asian pride and watch it and listen to it. also is it even possible to ban words? if we could ban words i would say not becuase some people like asians use the word constantly and if i said the 'N" word constantly then i would have to change my word to replaced that as jew or som thing

i believe in the right to free speech and i as a white person recognize the black community's right to use the word. it's thier business. i don't have to listen if i find it offensive, same as any other situation as far as speech goes. i find white supremists speech offensive so i don't choose to listen. they still have the right to say what they want to.
