Do you suspect people who smack you with a violation for a question under the reason of chatting and personal communication are possibly just ticked that you didn't choose them as best answer? Any thoughts.

That seems like a reasonable answer. Who knows why some people have the attitudes that they do. It seems to be the way of the world.

Interesting point, I think you are right. But it isn't very fair for someone to always pick the same person for Best Answer, regardless of their answer.

and i've even come to think that if your picked as best answer over a hater they go after you and the person that asked the question!!! yeah..pretty sure of it.
