So, I'm 13, and I haven't gotten my period yet. all of my friends have, except a few, but they haven;t gone into puberty yet. I get discharge like everyday, and have hair (you know what I mean!). One time I was in the bathroom, and I saw some blood on the tissue, but after a few wipes, it was gone, and never has come back. My mom said that before your period, you go through a phase, by getting a little chunkier, which I definitely have. Also, my breasts have grown, but definitely not fully developed. Well, they might be, but I doubt it. Also, in the past few months, I have grown a lot! I grew almost 5 inches from June. Anyone know if anything is wrong if i haven't gotten my period yet? Or, is this just normal?

You might have spotted. That happened with me before I started getting normal periods. I know how you feel. I was 13 and mine hadn't started, and I was so worried that I'd be 14 and still not have mine. It did come a couple weeks before my birthday though.

You sound a lot like me, the way you're growing. But I started having those big growth spurts when I was 11 and 12. I didn't get my period until way later.

Don't start thinking that your period issue isn't normal just yet. You're young. A 13-yr-old's body just isn't "right" to begin with!

Getting your period doesn't really have to do anything with age...your body has to reach a certain body fat percentage in order for that to happen. (I can' recall what is is but i'm thinking it was somewhere between 15-20%). If you are thirteen and have grown 5 inches chances you are slimmer than you have ever been and since your body hasn't reached that point your period just isn't ready yet. Trust me, when you DO get it, you'll wish you haven't wanted it so bad. My best friend didn't get her's until she was 16, so don't stress over it, that just makes it worse.

Definitely nothings wrong with you at 13. I think 13 is just about near the average age but its not past acceptable at all. If you havent by 16 then you can worry. But wow, when I was that age I was so scared of getting it I hated it and never ever wanted it. Im surprised that you're looking forward to it so much. It took a few years to get used to it and I still dont talk about it openly with anyone lol.

You may want to consult a doctor if the problem bother's you that much - a friend of mine actually has always had irregular periods and went to see a doctor; apparently she had more testosterone levels than she should. But, at the time, she was also slightly heavier than an average person her age should have been. I wouldn't worry not having your period yet - give it another 6 mo. or so...you could just be irregular. Or, again, consult a doctor.

You sound very normal. I had similar signs before my period started. Even though you may think you are very old to not have a period, you are not. Many young women who are very active don't get their periods until they are 14 or 15. I know that you are anxious because getting your period is an important event in your life and you move from being a girl to a young women, but really enjoy you life while you don't have it! It can be a huge pain!!

This is normal. You can start your first period anywhere between the ages of 10 and 18. I was almost 16 when I got mine, later than all my friends. Your body is just growing up, and the periods will come soon enough. Enjoy your freedom while you can!

there is nothing wrong with you...there is no such thing as "normal" ,everyone is an individual, I was the last one of my friends to get my period too so what you are going thru isn't something to worry about
