My gf changes the subject when i tell her that shes hot?

i love my gf and i know she loves me. we are only going out for a less then a month now. She had a few bf before me(and hey are reported to be jerks).. but shes my first love.. hopefully my only. we get along ok.. like no fighting..and we're really open about our feelings, and tell each other everything. She told me that shes likes the fact that im not a jerk. But when i tell her that she looks hot, she changes the subject. I'm only flirting with her, and i respect her alot. Should i ask her up front? Should i hint at something? I just dont want something sooo small make her feel bad/odd. what should i do?

I think it's sweet you think she is hot... but women don't always want to be told they are hot.. try telling her she looks beautiful.. Us girls don't always take the Hot thing very seriously. Try beautiful or stunning.. both will get a good response..

Maybe it embarrasses her or she doesn't know how to respond

maybe instead of "you look hot" you could say something like
you are so beautiful make sure you are looking at her I mean right in her eyes and mean it when you say it you don't need to say it all the time that makes it sound like a line don't be discouraged if she changes the subject she may not know how to respond especially if the others were jerks just take it slow and be honest and respectful and soon she will believe what you say to her and will treasure your words

You should resign yourself to the fact that women make no sense much of the time. Actually, what is going on here is that men and women think VERY differently. Men are logical. Women are insane (just kidding). Hehehe....cough. Instead of trying to figure her out, pay attention to the effect what you do and say has on her. Shift your thinking here.

Why did you say she looks hot? What was your goal in saying it? It didn't work. But, why is not nearly as important as the info that it didn't. So, don't do that anymore. Try something else. When you find something that does accomplish your goal of making her feel a certain way, be sure to file away that knowledge and use it every chance you get.

What I am getting at here is stop trying to make sense of her and her behavior and instead, focus on figuring out what works and what doesn't.

I have a hard time believing when guys tell me I look beautiful too, so I can guess she probably doesn't believe you when you tell her that. I wouldn't stop telling her, though, because if you do, then she'll really think she isn't hot. She needs to learn to smile and accept compliments with grace, and hopefully before long will start to understand they're actually true.

From what I have seen, it seems that she had a bitter past about that word and just like you said that she had a few bf before you and were jerks, I wouldn't doubt why.

Anyway just tell her how you feel and tell her that she looks so beautiful, it's better for her hearing those words than hot.

Some people aren't comfortable recieving compliments....especially relating to that subject. Although I feel that it's important to compliment your girlfriend, find something else to compliment her. Keep in mind that you've been dating less than a month, and you've got the rest of your life to know each other, so take things slow. Find out about her interests, and especially things she don't like...that way you can avoid it. Just be yourself, and like you've said, respect her, and you should turn out just fine. well most guys that hint on me like that and tells me that i am hot all the time and gropped my chest and butt only wanted just that maybe she feels the same way too ... and that saying oooh baby you look so good and sexy dont really turn her on because she's been there and done that it's okay to compliment her in a good wholsome way not you imaging her cloths off.... if she looks nice say it ..... but be careful how you word it dont sound like a horney toad ... like most jerks.

Tell her how you feel, that you don't mean to make her feel embarrassed or awkward by saying she is hot, you just really think that she is, it sounds as though she has a hard time believing she is a hottie and its important she should know after all.

She's just not used to being complimented, if her boyfriends were jerks before you.

Rather than wording it "You're hot"...maybe you should tell her something like, "You've got the prettiest eyes." The word 'hot' may be a little too blunt for her.

Ask her why she changes the subject when you tell her that she's hot. We can sit around all day and try to read her mind by guessing why she does it. The only way to find out why is to ask her.
