Yes I hate small talk, because I have learned that the people who are really good at it tend to be no deeper the the shallowness of the topics they choose to discuss.

No I love making small talk. It is through so called small talk that we receive insight into friends and loved ones thoughts, feelings, challenges and desires. Small talk can seem superficial but it does provide a vehicle for opening doors to friendship and sometimes to discussions of deeper meaning. It is for these reasons that I enjoy small talk. I believe the words used are maps to greater things. If nothing speaking about the weather can provide insight as to whether or not we need boots or an umbrella.
