That when you visited your instructor on campus in his office for help on your assignment, as he was telling you that, his eyes trailed down to your chest for three seconds a long hard stare?(A guy that was in his 60s-70s. Ew?

You're a woman and you weren't wearing anything suggestive. Jeans, a vneck sweater with a black undershirt that covered most of your chest(that noone should see) and you hardly ever wear a vneck shirt. But you liked the sweater and thought it was ok to wear it.

If it's happened more than once, I'd be wary. But guys are guys and I think that sort of thing happens very often, to old guys, young guys, happily married guys, etc. If you're feeling uneasy about asking for help again, just bring a friend along.

It tells me he is a normal man with normal desires. It also tells me he has good taste and self control. It is not a crime to recognise beauty in the opposite sex regardless of his age.

IF he were to do anything about it then the problems begin. Age is not the issue here, power differencials are.

IF his staring glance makes me uncomfortable I will tell him so in no uncertain terms. This for me equalizes the power base. I am there for help not harrassment.

My comfort zone is what matters not his desires. Men and women are vital sexual animals long after they may seem to be past it. It is very uncomfortable for young people to see older people as sexual beings. Perhaps that is a good thing as it helps us to bond with people in our own stage of life though some people do not.

However, it is important to acknowledge older persons as human beings with the same drives, desires and needs as younger ones. Otherwise we risk ageism and insensitivity to older people as community partners. While his glance may not be received with comfort, the truth is, it is quite normal and only 3 seconds. Let it go.

Men can be creepy. If he does anything other than look I would turn him in.
Sometimes men in positions of power think that they can use that power to
get whatever they want......even you. Be on your guard. Your intuition is
usually right. The guy is most likely a creep.

The teacher is possibly a perv. Next time, if there is a next time, and you catch him clear your throat to divert the attention and give him the eyebrow raise that suggests that you saw that and it would be in his best interest to not to do that again.
Good Luck!
