My ISP software works fine on my desktop (can connect to the internet) but it won't work on a new laptop.?

I get a message saying "cannot connect to your server". Is there a setting I must make on the laptop?

I'm on Netzero dial-up service with the accelrater Hispeed - thier software installs OK but I cannot connect to the server.

unless you're on dialup (even then) you dont have to install any software for your computer ot hook to the internet.
