Between 5-10% of the population is gay is best estimate. Keep in mind in much of the world, it is much more repressive than in USA or other first world nations, so gays are not as open as they are here.

From polls and what not, it's an estimated 5%, of course, this percentage might change because of location or region that you are in. Obviously, there are more gay people per capita in San Francisco, then there are in say an African village.

But you do also have to take in how many people that haven't 'come out of the closet' either. Sot here might be a higher percentage then that.

There is no specific answer. Estimates, as you have read here, are anywhere from 3-10%. I can only say with confidence that whatever anyone thinks the percentage is, it is probably considerably higher. There are many gays who are not out publically and alot who are not even out to themselves yet.

Probably around 2-5%.

Of course that's still a lot of people, considering how big the world is. But 10% is a bit too generous of an estimate.

And mmm, balls.

People are always saying "it's 1 in 10" which would make it about 10%. That's not official information though.
