Okay here's the truth. (even though there will be somebody bending the truth and saying their "happy for them")
I would feel like everybody ... ahhhhh crap! somebody shoot me! that couldda been mine! how could I be so stupid! I wonder if they'll share some dough?

Once a gift leaves your hand, what the recipient does with it is no longer your concern. Apply this rule every time, and you'll never be disappointed, angry, or jealous.
With that said...if someone gave ME a ticket that hit big, I'd give them 10% [and another 10% to charity]. 'Seems like the right way to handle it.

I would first ask myself, what was my intention when I gave such a gift? Was it to be cheap or didn't I think that there was the slightest possibility that it could be a winner? Then based on my responses I would A) proceed to the bathroom to flush myself down the toilet. or B) Be happy for them and hope that they would see it fit to spread some of that joy my way.
