I would like to start a retail business, but I know (pretty much) nothing at this point. Any advice would be great. Thanks!

it is likely to be different for each company you want to partner with. you might want to check their websites for info or contact the company directly.

FYI - they are not likely to want to deal with a "small operator" so you will want to make sure that you demonstrate your ability to generate significant sales for them or they may not want to invest in you as a channel for their product. you will also want to show them that you are a "real" company with professional website, dun & bradstreet number, etc. and be clear on how you expect to sell either via online, physical outlet, etc. another possible avenue is to partner with another organization that is already a reseller and see how you could work together. good luck!
