In July 1992, the Moscow deputy prosecutor approved the questioning of Abramovich under article 90 of the Russian criminal code. This case was sent to Ukhta, Komi republic for further investigation. He was accused of stealing diesel fuel from an Ukhta enterprise worth 4,000,000 rubles. The investigation determined that this fuel was transported to Riga using forged documents (which said that the fuel was supposed to be delivered to the Army) and sold there. Abramovich was later cleared of wrongdoing.
Abramovich obtained the majority of his wealth thanks to assets acquired cheaply during president Boris Yeltsin's program of privatizing state companies in the mid-1990s. With the help of his then-partner Boris Berezovsky, he became the majority shareholder in Sibneft, a major oil company. He later acquired aluminium assets from private owners and merged them with the metals assets of Oleg Deripaska to form Russian Aluminium, the world's second-largest aluminium producer.

During the lawlessness of the early 1990s Berezovsky, like many businessmen, was targeted by the Russian mafia for extortion, allegedly because of connections Berezovsky had with the Chechen mafia, which were powerful in Moscow at that time. He survived several assassination attempts, including a 1994 car bomb attack. Also he was almost killed a few years later in a rally standpoint shootoff.

well!?! thats the best u can come up with!?hehehe i said about chelsea, not about the owner! this is abramovich's personal life, its not chelsea! find me something about the players of chelsea, or about mourinho or about CHELSEA itself! again my friend this is becuz of jealousy! am not saying that abramovich is the cleanest man there is! but if abramovich had bought barcelona instead of chelsea, u wouldnt open ur mouth about it if he was the dirtiest man there is ! :) i know its very very very hard to get used to the fact that Chelsea are a better club than barca, but get used to it for ur own good! or it will cause u mental problems! although i think it already has! Maybe he felt Chelsea was a better deal. It's not just how much money you have, it's also what price someone will sell to you for. Also, Man Utd are in Manchester and Chelsea are in London. A lot of people prefer London to Manchester, so maybe he just wanted to live in London, too.

Roman Abramovich is a rich man and so he decided to buy Chelsea and buy a lot of goood players too....The team is doing extremely well and only jealous people hate the team. And they are doing much better than Barcelona who is simply drawing easy games.... HA HA HA HA
