Not that I know of. I used to try with a stethoscope that I had...but of course that is not your normal household item.

Household...no not that I know of, but at a baby store for like $20-$40 depending on what kind you want you can buy a little machine you plug headphones into and put it on your belly and you can hear the babies heart beat and some of them let you play the baby music.

I vote for some garden hose and a funnel.
Or how about some foil, a carboard box, and some electric tape, and an empty wrapping paper tube?
hehe.
After about 24 weeks someone with their ear placed against your belly should be able to make out your heartbeat, and the babies quicker beat.

when i was like 18 weeks i bought a regular stethoscope from walmart and i could hear my baby's heartbeat. i also have a bebe sounds fetal monitor my mom got at a yard sale for $3.

not that i know of, but i went to the health dept. and they let me borrow a doppler, like the doctor uses, for free.
