my sprinklers are installed in the ground so it's just a matter of setting the timer. Thanks

If you're in Riverside Co. California , put 4 empty tuna or similar size cans out in your yard, turn on your sprinklers and time how long it takes to get 1" of water into the cans. That's how long the sprinkler should be on for once a week.

Put out a few rain gauges and water your lawn equaling 1" of water per week.

BTW, where the heck is Riverside County? Were we supposed to automatically know where that is???

Water well after sunset, like around 9:00 when the ground has cooled enough to not evaporate the water on contact.... Also, if it's after sunset, the water does not act like a magnifier and burn the leaves.

About 30 minutes should be plenty, and I think once per day is plenty.
