With that attitude you'll be everything but successful. Plan a year ahead, take some time off, visit some foreign country you don't know how to spell its name. Art does not equal money, success does. Put yourself thinking in the direction of success... money will soon follow.

You do not have to continue in a job you do not enjoy. Take some time to figure out what you enjoy and do that. Have confidence in yourself as a person and as an artist. If you love your work you are already a great artist. You don't need the approval of others to measure your art by, but your own satisfaction and enjoyment is the measure of your art. Give your art as a gift and take pleasure in that as well. I want to encourage you on your journey and exploration what life has to offer.

Making that question you must be a young adult , but that is not bad because you have the future on your side , one can't predict the out come at the beginning, but you will know looking at it hind side when you reach serious adulthood . Many people look at success with the accumulation of financial gains , toys per say ... Others see success as the gain of experiences and knowledge .First, don't fret over it , one, follow the opportunities that your life trows at you , do the best you can in all of them , so if you don't receive the financial gains , you will know you done your best , and from any failure that is perceived, you have actually gained knowledge and that will be your success , you see, I believe, we all have a path to go through in our life time, or lets say destiny to accomplish . So do your best and every thing will fall into place .

You are what you apply your self to. Remember school? Perfections is what you put into it. I to am an Artist here in Texas. It matters not what others think but how deep your heart can express it's self. You can crank out 50 to 60 pieces a year and no one may buy them but in the end you will have cranked out 50 to 60 compared to someone that cranked out nothing.

although i think that all the "you can do whatever you put your mind to" stuff is just wishful thinking, i think that outlook matters. if you are expecting to fail, you probably will. it is called a self-fulfilling prophecy. try to get a positive outlook for your future. unexpected things can happen, but i think if you look positively at things another oppurtunity might show up that you can make the best of. im not sure if you want to be a painter type artist, but even if that doesn't work out for you, im sure it would be a great hobby. who knows, maybe you can paint pictures for your friends and family. im sure that they would appreciate them.

yea youre pretty much screwed if you ever have a job...
id suggest running a business for a couple of years...make enough money to live comfortably while you work on your talent...you can even hire someone else to run your business.

That is something you can only find out yourself; nobody can tell what your thoughts and decisions will lead to.
PS - Doubting yourself is setting yourself up for failure.
