Here is the situation: I have serious health problems (birth defects arthrogryposis multiplex congenita and mosaic turners syndrome) and no insurance. I have scoliosis, degenerative disc disease, bilateral hip dislocation among several other problems. The back problems have me currently suffering from pinched nerves. I am working part-time because I can't physically handle more than 25 hours a week. I make $7.50 an hour. My meger pay check barely pays my essential living expenses. I can not afford to see an orthopedic doctor, because without insurance they want payments made before the visit (at least the doctors in my town). So I know what's wrong and I know I can't afford the surgery to get better. Here is the best part.... I went to social services and tried to sign up for medicaid and I'm not eligible because I can - work even though the doctors have no idea how I am physically able to do so. I can't afford another emergency room bill... what do I do?

i would go back to social services and apply again, the old saying goes,"the squeaky wheel gets the grease", keep telling them that you can't work much longer in pain and if that doesn't work, quit your job then they have to help you, i know it's a drastic step but you do need help, anyone can see that, good luck to you and God Bless!!!!

I agree with some answers above. It is obvious you can't work that much, and robably shouldnt be working at all right now. Even though the initial cost of a physical is drastic, it may help you recieve some benefits from social services. They may even certify that you should not work right now. I hope you find a solution, because your situation is very tragic. It's always the honest hardworking people that loose out on what they deserve...

try to get in contact w/ the dr office to see if they can set up a payment schedule. Try to see if maybbe smaller payments can fit into your budget. otherwise, try to find a different job that offers insurance, and maybe better suited for your disability. Have you tried a massuse. there are massage schools that offer good services, these guys are being graded on the massage you receive so they care, and are cheap. It may not fix the real problem, but it might help the pain.

Have u tried a local clinic-health department, they should treat u free of charge.
Sounds like u need to be on disability and get some benefits.
If u are in pain, u can use ice on pain.
Back troubles ...situps every other day will help them.
Try to apply for hospitalization insurance at your local hospital.
U just need your last check stub.

sure I feel you must rather see a dr. My husband had cut down again anguish radiating down his leg and he learned he had ruptured a disc and likewise had sciatic anguish. I'm certain you'll be able to discover a medical institution that fees in keeping with your revenue. My husband received an epidural injection and he's pleasant now. Good success

Have you ever been to a Chiropractor for your problem? I would think a good one would be able to give you some relief. and they are much less expensive than others.

There are across the counter meds that will help a lot. As long as you take them every 4 hours diligently.
