Your body craves what it needs. If you are craving animal products you have to look beyond that into what you are craving specifically. Is it meat? Then you probably are craving something in the meat, lets see, obviously protein, but maybe Zinc or Iron?
You need to replace the things that are missing from your diet that are in the things that you are craving. Babies make your body need things that it doesn't usually. If you wouldn't hate yourself tooo much, you could try some milk or cheese, these have alot of the minerals that meat does maybe without very much guilt, because nothing died in their making.
I am betting that you need protein though, it is the single most important building block for human life.

I am not a straight vegetarian but I just don't like meat. Especially red meat. I am 25 weeks with my second child and all I have craved was meat, deer meat, hamburger, fish, and bacon. My baby is probably going to come out looking like a little pig. Hahaha.

I'm a vegetarian and I eat what ever I wanted during my pregnancy. Even meat. I didn't crave a lot of it though. No I can't stand a sight of meat ;-)

Cravings and aversions are most often related to what our bodies need. If you're craving meat you might be low on protein or iron.
Or you might just want meat.
If you still want to avoid animal products, try eating things high in iron and in protein and see if your craving lessens or goes away.

Hi there!! I am a veggie, been so for most of my life. I am 15 weeks prego. The only cravings I have had have been for eggs, which I normally hate and for beef terriaki?? which I also hate. I satisfied the egg craving but the beef I just can't do so I ate something else and it was fine. You will be fine.

cravings are the bodies way of letting you know that it needs something. if you are seriously craving meat, it is possible that you are low on protein or low on iron.
you can look up the meaning of cravings in your favorite search engine. it is pretty fascinating how the body compensates for what it is lacking. good luck and congratulations!!
