When you answer someones question on yahoo answers then the asker can pick you as best answer to their question out of a lot of questions or if a lot of people vote you as the best answer thumbs up and the yahoo team send you an e-mail that you were picked as best answer and you get 10 extra points.

They find the lamest question, and the lamest answer (none of which sound like anything a real person would answer) and voila, best of.
