usually testing drugs for both humans and animals. They can also be used to study genetics and patterns of inheritance for various diseases. They can also help with the creation of new vaccines. There are also animals used for trying out new pet food formulas. Some people do tests to help understand the way diffrent parts of the brain work.
I have been inside a lab where they do studies on animals and the animals live good lives in clean conditions as a sick or depressed animal will give false results.

some testing on animals is unnecessary, as in cosmetic. Some are important in the medical field, all the medications you or your family may take could not be possible with out some sort of testing. from insulin to heart medication. There are many life saving medications approved this way. If it came down to your life..would you not take medicine because it was tested on a rat?

because humns are awful and think it necesssary to kill animals so we can look better even though there is advanced technology to replace animal testing, when in the long run the technology is cheaper in the long run.
