I just got that new herbal essence seriously straight shampoo stuff - aaand that actually helps a lot before you straighten :)
but as for the straightener itself -do small chunks of hair at a time and don't hold close to your scalp for very long when you start or it will leave a crease - after you do the smaller chunks you can go over it all again in bigger chunks of hair to finish

wat i do, is i straighten sections at a time, like i put up 3/4 of my hair in a bun on top of my head. than i straighten that other 1/4, than i let down another 1/4 and straighten that, ect. i do that till the hair is all straightened! it looks really good, and natural!

I do everyday and all I do is make sure to get the back of my hair so it's not wavy and the rest of it is straight. Also, if you have time, you could straighten layer to layer like put the rest if your hair in a clip while you straighten the bottom and keep doing it one layer at a time.

i do, and i love the way it looks. just remember, don't do it a lot. it isn't good for your hair to be straightened on a regular basis, but every now and then is okay

I straighten my hair...but only for like special occasions or when I want to wear it down. I don't straighten it everyday (and you shouldn't...it's bad for your hair)...straighten it once and a while! :)

I just run it through quickly all over like I'm brushing my hair. That way, it doesn't stay in one area too long and fry it, and it looks more natural in the end.

I used to, it is BAD for your hair. All I can say is don't rush or it will curl back quickly.
