Every bra i have tried on ends in a complete disaster. I have been wearing very loose bra's for the past 6 years (im 16) I have been sized as a 36 B, although everytime i try on that or even a 42 C, it starts to hurt really badly. It feels as if im being punched over and over, and i feel like i can't breathe, i cry too if i try to force myself to wear it for too long. I think this has to do with my claustrophobia, but im not sure. Please help, what do i do?

Avoid retailers with cheap crap (you know who I mean). Go to a store like J.C.Penney where sales reps are trained to help you. Allow yourself to be fitted by an expert woman. Explain your problem to her. She's the one best qualified to help you find something that's a good fit and also comfortable all-day wear. Try on lots and lots until you find a brand you can live with. Good luck!

It sounds as though this could be a form of anxiety, claustrophobia or from simply not being used to wearing bras. I would recommend trying cotton, stretchy, sports bra due to the fact it feels more like wearing a tank than a bra and is a bit more comfortable. It can take time getting used to wearing bras for some girls as well. Just start out simple and you will be surprised how soon you will begin getting used to wearing them.
Hope this helps some, Audra :)

First of all, are you sure that you have the right bra size for you. Why would someone who has been measured 36B even bother with a 42C. Doesn't sound right. I would say go to a store like Neiman Marcus and meet with one of those bra fitting expert.
Secondly, I am wondering if you have posture issues. Read the article below on how to improve posture.
And finally, wear a bra only when you are out so that you don't feel trapped.

there are stretchy singlet tops with bra fitted in- so compfy- i hate bras , i feel the same but have breasts that are big and bounce around like basket balls if not strapped down, i can wear these bras and feel compfy all day, I can even fall asleep in them, mind you if you don't like bras , just wear clothes suitable to go bra less, so you can bend over etc, explore the bra shops untill you find something appealling for those special occassions and out fits that need a bra, don't dispair, just go hunting. Most of us ladies feel like we are in straight jackets, between bras and high heals - they wonder why we turn into bitches=

I'm not a doctor, but it sounds like your problem is more psychological than physical. First....Tell your Mom!!!! then see if she can't set up an appt with someone in the mental health field who you can talk to about this. You might need a mild anti-anxiety medication for your "claustrophobia".

Try to get professionally sized. Measure under you breasts around your rib cage. That gives you the number measurement.
Stay away from under wire bras. They are very painful.
You could have Need of a Chiropractic adjustment. My bras will hurt my back and my ribs if I need an adjustment.

I think a man invented the bra....all women have this trouble,
But u will find the right bra somehow, keep trying,
Get a wire bra that will lift u up and make sure it fits snug and not tight.

i feel your pain... somewhat.... go to the store where you buy your bras and get fitted. they'll tell you what size you need. also where baby powder on your breasts to keep you from feeling "stuck" in your bra.... if that doesnt work try just wearing a tight spaghetti strap shirt instead of a bra under your clothes
