It could possibly be to do with talking about the same subject twice or more? or to do with extra large images I added to the post by accident?

So they are saying that my post is a disaster?

Often the word travesty is also linked with injustice, unfairness and the like. Disaster is a slightly simplistic translation, as the word implies so much more. Of course people like to try to exaggerate a superlative eg. a travesty of epic proportion - Well, I would argue that a travesty is already fairly epic otherwise it would just be a 'mistake' or similar. What it really means is that your respondant is a little ignorant in the use of their vocabulary.....?
Another example 'really bad disaster' as if there could be a mild or positive DISASTER...
Of course by saying this - if you have complained about something they could be sympathising with you.

It means you may be a little off the wall and that they can't follow you there. People like that usually have trouble with people who are cool, too... they are also prone to scold if cornered. It is a kind of delayed parent trip... they might have gotten it from a parent who wagged her finger in their general direction too much, too often, &c.
