The egg standing on it's end only on the first day of spring (in china which is February)) which was started by Life magazine on March 19, 1945 is an urban legend or myth, it can be done at any time of the year given the right conditions....it's just continues on year after year and people believe it...

Actually, an egg will stand up on any day of the year. I've got a website that explains why it's possible.
