I am going next wednesday the 13th of December to my 18 week ultrasound. What is the chance of finding out my baby's sex ? The father and i both really would like to know

It depends. If your baby cooperates with the ultrasound and opens his/her legs or turns such that one can clearly see a member or nonmember, then you are a lucky parent. If he/she doesn't want to put on a show for you that day, you may have to wait. The sex organs are formed by that time and are visible under the right circumstances. Whatever you have....Congratulations!!!!

I went in between 18 and 19 weeks so excited to find out the gender. However, the technician acted like I was crazy to think I could find out with any certainty what the gender was so soon. I left so disappointed and had to wait another month to find out I was having a boy. It seems as though everyone on here has no problem finding out that early so maybe I just had a crappy tech - hopefully yours goes better than mine! Good luck!

I just had an ultrasound on dec 2 and I was 19 weeks and they were able to tell us that we're having a little boy!!! I'm sure the only way is if his/her feet are in the way. Hope this helps!! Good luck!!!

Very very very good. My girlfriend found out at 16 weeks and I am going in at 17 weeks to find out. There is always a chance that the baby will no cooperate but you should know soon... congrats....

i found out at 17 weeks so your chances are very good assuming the bub is in the right position.
I am having a boy - i check every time i go to see my ob to make sure he can see boy bits though as i have heard they can get it wrong but i would hope that is rare.
Good luck, I was chuffed as i really wanted a boy - i would have loved it no matter what but i always wanted a son..i am 28 weeks pregnant with my first baby.

This is the ultrasound where the do tell you the sex if you want to know.
At 18 weeks this is an excellent time to tell.

You could possibly find out, but most likely, not. Generally they want to wait until you are 20 - 24 weeks before they try to check. Even then, they can only tell if the baby cooperates and moves in the correct position, not all babies do that. Hope this helps.

Yes, you should be able to find out, as long as baby coperates. I found out at 16 weeks

no problem......... i found out the sex of both of my children at my 18 week scan, the baby IS big enough for you to find out, the only way you wont is if they are hiding their bits. good luck!

18 weeks is bit early, there is a better chance after 19 weeks
