First find out if they are legally evicting you. Look up the housing authority in your area. If it is a good reason to evict you then start looking for a place right away. Do it before the eviction lands on your credit. Just tell the manager you were living with parents or friends during that time. Hope that helps. Good Luck!

It`s down to the council some help more than others . and it depends on the why`s and where froms .If it`s from council property for rent arrears (i`m not being patronising ,the council are dead sly and pretend they didn`t get your housing benefit form and charge months of back rent ) with kids they find you a B and B or a hostel .around here they won`t help you without kids and private rented is much the same if you did anything wrong or not .
The good part is it takes a long time to get you out .even longer if you put in appeals .I hope you manage to sort something out : )

Go to your local council. As far as I know they are obliged to put you in temporary accomodation ( such as a hostel ) and then they assess your problems. Do you have children? If you do they will definately put you in some sort of shelter. If you have been made homeless through no fault of your own they should help you. But if they think it's your own fault then I'm afraid they will no longer help. Also get in touch with your local shelter services. You can also go to citizens advice.
A friend of mine was made homeless and the council provided for him, but it's a long process, he was in a hostel for just over a year. Good luck.

if you need help with accommodation, go to your local housing benefits office. They will find you temporary accommodation and get you o the housing list.
If you have just got the letter from the court that proceedings are about to start, take this with you.

Go to your nearest Citizens Advice Bureau for help and advice, secondly go to your local council Homeless unit and tell them what is going to happen and maybe they will be able to help you.
