A co-worker was telling me that there is a subculture among homosexuals called 'bug chasers' that actively seek the HIV virus.
Is this true?

There are a few....but at this point there are so many people on earth that no matter what disgusting thing you name there are people into it.
Believe it or not there are actually people so incredibly stupid they site Wikipedia as a source!!!! I know it's scary.

No, I don't think there is. There was one little article in Rolling Stones magazine awhile back that caused all this uproar.
I think it's mostly hyped-up hoopla. If there IS a subculture we're talking about some people that are such in the minority I'm talking about like a group of 5 gay men in ONE bar in the world or something, IF THAT.
Don't worry about it, it caused a lot of homophobic uproar.

There are a few out there but it's nowhere near the phenomenon that has been reported by some supposed "news" agencies.

i seen on oprah that some times a person does seek people who have hiv, but the gay guy saying it did say he was on crack or some other drug....

yes its real. I knew a guy who went to a bug party, he didn't contract but I stopped seeing him after he told me about it.
