One difference is that bleach takes the color out of some things. Ammonia doesn't.

Another difference is that (I think) ammonia is good for removing greasy/waxy things (like floor wax); and it can be added to water to make a good glass cleaner.

Bleach is (again, I think) better for whitening things and removing stains.

Bleach is an oxidizer. It can be rather damaging, so use sparingly. Ammonia is a degreaser.

cleaning what? ammonia is actually stronger but takes longer unless you get it pure.it's not a degreaser although it will work for one.
need to know what you are cleaning to offer you more info.

BLEACH IS FOR DISINFECTING AND WHITING WHERE AMNONIA IS USE FOR CLEANING GRIME AND GREASE. PLEASE DO NOT MIX THE BOTH TOGETHER IT IS BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH
