what are you trying to do by removing the protection? and yes it probably is illegal but........you didn't ask if it was right or wrong did you?

go to top of page click tools,Internet options open advanced tab scroll down to security you will see a few options on allowing CD content.if you find it click allow at the bottom

you can't really but some disc;s like floppy's have a tab you can move so you can write on them
