some people do use suicide as an attention seeker but for the majority they talk about it for a while and then kill themselves. Also statistics have proven that a person will usually talk and plan and ask questions and give away things and then they top themselves. Statistically very few suicides actually kill themselves on a whim. And yes I am concerned.

I would take that seriously, especially if they have feelings of suicide and are extremely depressed. In the human nature it is natural to become depressed, but it isn't normal to experience these for weeks at a time. Your friend might be bi-polar or have depression, it'd be best to talk to him/her and make sure everything is OK with their life.

Some people believe that their actions in this life determine where they will have to spend the rest of eternity, either in heaven or in hell. All of eternity is obviously as very long time, so it's not stupid to question where you are destined to end up.

However, it's impossible to get a straight answer to such a question, as many beliefs have many different theories on what earns a place in hell or heaven, and this world is covered in hundreds of religions with differing opinions. You have to go off of your own beliefs, and just hope you were right.

First of all, how old is this person? If very young to late teens,(especially these days), then I wouldn't worry too much, if not at all. It's called wanting attention, and depending on the upbringing they received at home, their siblings and peers, whether or not they have had any sort of spiritual or religious beliefs, will determine if they are actually suicidal or just messing with you. Hope this helps clear something for you and maybe give you something to work with. You sound like a sincere individual looking out for the better interests of her fellowman, thanks!

Some times I do, but who doesn't laugh when you see someone fall or get soaked by a passing car? It isn't that we are not sympathetic to others suffering, it is that we unconsciously we are happy that it is not happening to us.
Any way the people who really want to commit suicide will not give themselves a nickname like that, and then come to yahoo answers to post a question!!! Many people crave for others to feel sorry for them.

If i encounter a question like that, i would take it seriously. I don't care if he just want to get attention or whatever. Theres nothing to loose answering seriously.
I believe that if i cant say something good to others i better close my mouth and not talk anymore,.

When people are serious about taking their own lives...they dont ask questions...they do it. The questioner is seeking help..or attention...if they were seriously contemplating...they would be dead. Dont damn us all...you are a kind soul...but your words would not stop them anyway...
