Actually, I sort of do. My back door faces an ancient Indian burial ground with a more modern grave yard on top of the ancient one. To sit on my back porch and watch birds, the red rocks spiraling out of the ground with the mystical sky and clouds on the reservation near monument valley, Utah, is actually relaxing and thought provoking. It sort of makes me get prospective of time and my place in the world. Human life is so short compared to those magnificent rocks and sky. Meditating on an Indian burial sight is pretty powerful medicine for making good, healthy decisions on things.
You know, we all come from a tall pile of bones...all our ancestors are gone...white or Native. What would our ancestors say to us if they could see us now? A grave yard makes me more respectful and I think deeper when I'm around one. I'm not superstitious or religious...I just think better and make better decisions when I remember everyone's ultimate outcome. It makes me kinder too...everyone reading this will be dead in less than a hundred years! Its nice to remember to be nice while we're here.

I think graveyards are cool. When my son was a baby, I used to push the stroller around a very old graveyard near me. I loved looking at architecture of the stones and read the names on them and imagine what type of person he or she was.

Yes. They're very peaceful and looking at the tombstones can give such a fascinating view of history. I love to walk around graveyards that have been around for centuries and look at the tombstones. Especially with cremation being so popular today, you don't really see too many interesting tombstones anymore unless you look at ones from older times.

Yes. The one by my house has really powerful sprinkers that go onto the roads. I can go drive around the graveyard for 10 minutes and leave with a clean car. Free carwash!

It's not that I dislike graveyards ; I respect them deeply. But the fact that visiting a grave yard evokes feelings of sadness & loss makes me sad when I think about them.

Yes, there's a lot of history in them. Have you stopped to read some of the stones and markers? Some are very facinating, especially the old ones. It's very sad this time of year, though, to see a stone with a little Christmas stocking on it with a stuffed animal because you know it's a child's grave.

Yes, have since I was a kid. Have visited many and like reading the old stones. One of my favorites is in Concord, Massachusetts. Weird huh? But it has kept me grounded (no pun intended) as to how short, transient and precious life really is.

I live a few houses down from a large one... It's strange... It's so sunny there with large, orange and red trees... It just doesn't seem to fit because there are dead bodies underground in caskets... It just freaks me out in a way, you know? I just start to think about the people, start to form stories about them in my mind... I always end up breaking out in goosebumps... Those are one of the few times when my overactive imagination is a curse.

Yes! One time I went to Georgia and there were millions of cemetaries and I loved it! They dont scare me. They are so full of history and mystery. It's a thrill that I enjoy. I always wonder how the people died. Especially the young ones. I love them. And especially on Halloween!
